Camp Instructions

Upon Arrival:

Please park in the Babson Skating Center parking lot (150 Great Plain Ave, Wellesley, MA) and escort your campers to the registration desk in the front lobby.

Skaters should get their skates on immediately upon arrival! We begin the day on the ice at 9AM sharp! If your skater does not know how to tie their own skates please arrive with skates on.

Ellen Geminiani, MD from Boston Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine will be available on opening day at the registration desk to answer questions you might have.

From the camp nurse:

Campers with missing health records are not considered enrolled until all required documentation is received and reviewed by the camp nurse. Those with missing forms have been contacted by email or phone. Please scan and email the forms to cheri.rigby@scboston.

What to wear:

  • Dress in layers for ice time (Babson’s rink is cold!)
  • T-shirt and shorts (required) for off-ice training
  • Sneakers
  • What to bring:
  • Change of clothes
  • Hooded rain jacket for rainy days-it’s a long walk outside to the upper campus
  • Sunscreen/ insect repellent
  • Skates and guards
  • Snack (NUT FREE ONLY please)
  • Water bottle
  • Camper attendance policy:
  • Everyone must check in and out at the registration desk in the front lobby of the rink. Early dismissal requests must be made in writing and submitted to the Camp Director.

Carpooling:

Campers in need of carpools may refer to this contact list of people who have expressed an interest in carpooling. Arrangements are to be made directly by you.

Lunch is included:

Lunch boxes or food from home is NOT permitted in the dining hall. This rule is strictly enforced by Babson’s dining service. The dining hall is peanut free.

A special invitation to parents, friends and family:

Every camper will perform in a talent showcase on the last day of camp.

Please join us on Friday(s) at 2:30pm to watch your skater perform in front of a live audience. See how much your skater has learned!

The Skating Club of Boston complies with the State of Massachusetts Camp Regulations (105 CMR 430) and is permitted by the Wellesley Health Department.
